Tucked away in a rather remote part of Jurong near Lakeside is a beautiful park known as Chinese Garden. Born and bred in Singapore for over 40 years, I am rather ashamed to say that this is the first time I visited it. How we tend to take things for granted when such a beautiful place is right here in Singapore for us to visit but somehow we always give excuses that we are simply too busy and maybe we will go visit it one day but never really make a effort to do so. We take for granted that the sun will indeed rise each morning and set each night. Too often we take for granted our very own heartbeat and the air we breathe, without feeling the sense of awe that the Universe has put all these in place for us to appreciate.
Look around you! This is indeed heaven on earth.
Flowers From David - The wonder of love that never dies
Most people I know struggle with death. We hate being separated from those we love and wonder how we will ever get along without them. And while we're wondering if we will be okay, we also wonder if our deceased loved one is, too. The challenge is to realize that although our bodies wear out or get hurt, love never dies and can keep us close in mind and spirit. How can we be sure of that? Let your heart make its wishes. You might be surprised when, someday, proof arrives that all is well.
MANY, MANY PEOPLE LOVED HARRIET, but David was her soul mate. Though there were twenty-two years between them, Harriet considered David, the son of her good friend Liza, to be her "birthday twin" since they shared the same birth date.
On June 14, 1999, Harriet and David celebrated their birthday together at a big bash given by her family. She was seventy-four that day: he turned fifty-two. But she would turn seventy-five without him because David died from cancer shortly after their party.
When the holidays rolled around that year, Harriet missed David. She believed he was with her beloved angels, but wished for his presence in her life anyway. She tried to stay busy around the house so she wouldn't think of him, but it was no use. He was on her mind and in her heart. As she allowed her memories to fill her with love, something wonderful happened.
The doorbell rang. There stood a messenger bearing flowers. The box was huge, with so many blossoms that Harriet needed not one but two vases to display them all. She delighted in their beauty, their ripe abundance, their grace. And when she opened the card, something even more wonderful happened.
It read:"Love, it is a flower and you are its only seed." It was signed, "David."
Harriet immediately called the florist. No, David had not ordered in advance of his death. No, they had not been sent to her by his mother. They were from her friend Marilyn, but that was not the card that was supposed to accompany the bouquet. The florist was embarrassed because the card Harriet received was supposed to go with another delivery. He could not explain the mix-up.
But Harriet knew it was no mistake. "I truly think I received a message from David,"she said later,"just when I needed it most."
Love Light - Angel Kisses
An angel kiss is an instant of reassurance from beyond our earthly dimension that we are loved and that everything's okay. The wonder of angel kisses is that you never know where they will come from. They are often related to moments when you are missing someone you've lost, sweet proof that the love you shared in life survives death.
If you'd like to receive an angel kiss, try this simple exercise. Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, releasing both your physical tension and mental concerns. Just relax. Then think of someone you once loved who is now gone. Focus on someone with whom you shared a good relationship, not a contentious one or one that resulted in a breakup or divorce. Start with a name, and then allow your subconscious to bring a picture of this individual to your mind. Concentrate on this mental picture until the details come into focus. See the top of the person's head, then the forehead and eyes, then the nose, mouth, cheeks, and chin. Allow the body to take shape, and imagine that you are holding it. Remember this person's familiar smell and how it felt for the two of you to embrace.
Then listen as your loved one starts to speak. Hear the sound of his/her voice. You will likely hear something familiar. Mentally respond, as if you two were having a conversation. Allow the words to flow between you or a sweet silence if you didn't talk much when you were together. Enjoy the pleasure of being in your beloved's presence again. It is a scientific fact that our bodies don't know the difference between something we're merely thinking about and an actual experience of it, so while you are imagining your loved one, your experience is as "real" as if he or she were actually in the room with you.
After a minute or two of this, whisper, "Thanks," and open your eyes. This closes your prayer of the heart and lets all of heaven know that you would welcome more. Then go about your business. Live your life. Expect something wonderful to happen. Like Harriet, you may get a message you never expected. You may hear "your song" on the radio. A friend might call and start talking about the deceased, bringing back memories you'd forgotten. You could find a memento you thought was lost for good. Or you might get a message in your dream. Keep your eyes, your ears, and your heart open and alert to wonder, never worrying about it, but always ready for it. You never know how the angels will connect the two of you again, but I assure you, they will. And that's wonderful.
Sometimes during my bowling, I can't help it when my mind start thinking, "What if I miss this spare? What if I throw the ball into the gutter? What if I lose?"
It is said that we humans think about 50,000 to 60, 000 thoughts per day and majority of them are negative thoughts. It is quite common to hear people say: "Think positive!" , to someone who feels down or worried.
Negative thoughts, words and attitude bring up negative and unhappy moods and actions. When the mind is negative, poisons are released into the blood, which cause more unhappiness and negativity. This is the way to failure, frustration and disappointment.
One method to remind myself to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts which I am trying right now is the rubberband method. By placing a rubberband round my wrist to condition my mind to focus solely on the most positive elements in my life. Each time a negative, energy sapping thought enters my mind, snap the rubberband. Through the power of conditioning, our mind will associate pain with negative thinking and we will soon possess a strong positive mindset.
Yes, I know what someone reading this post might be thinking right now. Using the rubberband method for your kkj to prevent yourself from getting horny....haha..who knows..it might works! Have a good week! Huat Ah!!!!!!!
In the Celestine Prophecy, James Redfield describes the first insight which is about following meaningful coincidences. Coincidences, if followed through, are seen as a way of evolving, to a higher level of vibration. When we are in the flow, we experience more synchronous events, more pleasure and less pain. The flow of coincidences is our path to higher ground.
Today, while flipping through the morning papers, look what I found again.
Coincidences are often a sign that you are going with the flow of life, doing what your heart desires (divine will) and following your intuition. In Deepak Chopra's Synchrodestiny, it is said that meaningful coincidence has a direction. It is a process of manifestation, of unfolding - just as the development of a human embryo is the unfolding of a genetic destiny encoded in the DNA.
By observing coincidence conscientiously we become aware of the fact of life, though seeming chaotic at first sight, is not such a haphazard business after all. Through the chaos or drabness or silence one can catch glimpses of beautiful structures. At one point it is only vague, dream-like, at another it is so intense that it translates itself into a feeling of "I am being cared for." Thank you so much.....HUAT AH! :)
When someone tells you that you can't do something...
Consider all options...
Then GO for it!!!
You've gotta stick your neck out!
Use your skill and positive attitude!
Be Creative!
In the end, you will succeed and prove them wrong.
Always remember
"Nothing is impossible, if your heart is willing and your attitude is positive!!"
The miracle-working powers of our subconscious mind existed before you and I were born. In order for our world to change, we have to change our mind...from the inside out. Infinite riches are within our reach. To gain them, we just have to open our mental eyes and behold the treasure house of Infinity within us. There is a storehouse within us from which we can extract everything we need to live life gloriously, joyously and abundantly.
We are the gardener of our mind. We are planting seeds of thought in our subconscious mind all day long. Much of the time we are not even aware of doing so, because the seeds are based on our habitual thinking. As we sow in our subconscious mind, so shall we reap in our body and environment.
Ideas to Remember :-
1. Think good, and good follows. Think evil, and evil follows. You are what you think all day long.
2. Watch what you say. You have to account for every idle word. Never say, "I will fail; I will lose my job; I can't pay the rent." You subconscious cannot take a joke. It brings all these things to pass.
3. Whatever your conscious mind assumes and believes to be true, your subconscious mind will accept and bring to pass. Believe in good fortune, divine guidance, right action, and all the blessings of life.
4.Prior to sleep, turn over a specific request to your subconscious mind and prove its miracle-working power to yourself.
5. The law of action and reaction is universal. Your thought is action, and the reaction is the automatic response of your subconscious mind to your thought. Watch your thoughts!
6. Your desire is your prayer. Picture the fulfillment of your desire now and feel its reality, and you will experience the joy of the answered prayer.
7. Remember that the thankful heart is always close to the riches of the universe.
Look at what is pasted on the envelope storing the birthday card and the ang pao! Haha...luckily they did not sing out Happy Birthday to LupCheong during the dinner. Thank you my friends! I really appreciate it! What is my 40th Birthday Wish? World Peace! Haha....Huat Ah!!! :)
"We human think of ourselves as the supreme beings, above all others and in absolute control of our destiny and surroundings. We live in a false sense of security only to be awakened by Mother Nature's fury, almost to remind us of her presence and our responsibility towards her child (the Earth)."
These two meaningful sculptures were done by Lorenzo Quinn of Spain and displayed at the Marina Barrage. With the recent disasters happening around the world...from the killer landslides in Mexico to the devastating earthquakes in Taiwan and the Typhoon in Philippines..one can't help but wonder...is this the karma of Mankind?
